Overview
Secure your system from unauthorized access by employing "best-in-class" encryption technologies.
Users demand higher security for their mission-critical communications, especially public safety agencies and other sensitive environments. ASTRO systems comply with the NIST cybersecurity framework, employing "best-in-class'" encryption technologies for voice and data transmissions, hardware security and crypto key management. These features enhance your security posture by preventing, detecting and responding to external and internal risks.
Features and benefits
Encrypt voice and radio communications
Secure integrated data
Network intrustion detection
Secure connection protocols
Key management facility
Hardware security modules (HSM)
Touchless key provisioning
Encrypted router transmissions
Protect mission-critical communications with embedded encryption that complies with the NIST framework.
Radio encryption
ASTRO system access by Motorola Solutions APX series of mobile radios have been upgraded to the highest level of information assurance, FIPS 140-2 Level 3. This security standard covers radio design, software and hardware, which minimizes misuse and ensures the integrity and operational capabilities of its intended users. Radio communications are protected from illegal listening via an embedded Motorola Advanced Cryptographic Engine (MACE) and encryption algorithm (AES-256).
Core encryption capabilities
Ensuring the integrity of data within the network is of equal importance to the overall security of the ASTRO platform. To enable security at every step of they way we employ a variety of methods, including secure access controls, data traffic monitoring and encryption, based on the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) framework and industry best practices.
Advanced key management
Advanced Key Management Facility (KMF) is provided via a centralized and feature-rich platform for effectively managing secure interoperable communications across all of your devices. The KMF’s web-based client improves key operations via the interactive and easy-to-use interface from virtually anywhere.
Hardware security module (HSM)
HSM offers optional encryption/decryption for ASTRO Integrated Voice and Data (IV&D) systems. This tamper-resistant encryption unit with integrated physical security is certified to FIPS 140-2 Level 3 compliance, a very stringent standard for cryptographic modules. The HSM is available for either ASTRO trunked or conventional systems.
