WHAT’S NEW IN FLEX JAIL - 2024.2

We're excited to highlight some of the work that was done in this latest release to improve your Flex Jail system and the tools you use to manage your system. For a complete list of new features included in this release, please review the Flex Release Notes. To upgrade your system, schedule an appointment at flex-update.appointlet.com. Customer requests for upgrades will take place in the order they are scheduled.

Jail Scanner App

We have released version 2.1.0 of the Flex Jail Scanner (formally known as the Cell Check app), which now allows corrections officers to use the embedded camera on an Android device to capture barcodes. We’ve heard from customers that they would like the ability to use any Android device with a camera, instead of being reliant on a purpose-built device, so we delivered! This adds on to our recent 2.0 release of the Flex Jail Scanner, where we re-designed the backend to significantly reduce system crashes and increase performance.

Esignature

In 2024.1, Esignature became available on multiple reports in Flex Jail. These reports include assessments, hold harmless, medical assessments and incident reports. This will make capturing signatures much easier for correction officers since they won’t have to print the report first. To enable this, go into Adminutil - System.client. Set touchscreensignature and officersignature to “True”.

What’s New in Flex Jail 2023.3

We're excited to review the work that was done this past quarter to improve your Flex Jail system and the tools you use to manage your system. To upgrade your system, schedule an appointment at flex-update.appointlet.com. Customer requests for upgrades will take place as they are currently scheduled.

E-Signature for Medical Assessments
Jail personnel need technology that allows them to get the information they need as quickly and seamlessly as possible so they can get back to work. With the 2023.3 release, users can now collect eSignatures on Medical Assessments for verification purposes.

In order to accept eSignatures, your agency administrator must set up a setting control for signatures to be captured for medical assessments. Once this setting is enabled, the system prompts for signatures when a medical assessment is saved. The logged in user is prompted for a signature, which can be the saved officer signature of the logged in user. The system then prompts for the inmate signature. Once completed, the signed record is attached to the record as a file attachment.

NEW IN FLEX JAIL - Q2 2023

We're excited to review the work that was done this past quarter to improve your Flex Jail system and the tools you use to manage it. To upgrade your system, schedule an appointment at flex-update.appointlet.com. Customer requests for upgrades will take place as they are currently scheduled.

New Gender and Ethnicity Fields

The inmate screen has been updated to now include fields for Gender and Ethnicity. This will improve officer insight for the inmates they are responsible for and help agencies meet certain state requirements where applicable.

Users do not need to do anything additional to use this feature. The fields have been added to the various screens where this level of inmate information is available.

Flex Records

Agency Specific Law Circumstances

This newest enhancement allows users to filter and only see law circumstances that are attached to their agency. For shared agencies particularly, using this new filter will make it easier to review and get to the information that is most critical or applicable. Users can still see a complete list of circumstances by pressing “Show All.” This was a heavily-requested feature from customers, so we’re excited to offer it in 2024.1 and beyond!

To enable this feature, add the appropriate agency code to Flex Records in lwtbcirc. Make sure that syparam codefltr is set to “Yes”.

Standardization of Inmate Card

Tired of looking at different screens for inmate information? Now, when the inmate card is displayed anywhere in Flex Jail, it will display the same information in a more organized view. This standardization across all screens will save time and improve officer workflow.

The new information will display like this:
First Line: Last, First, MI, Suffix, Sex, Race, DOB
Second Line: Gender, Ethnicity, Hair, Eyes, Height, Weight, Name Number
Third Line: Current Location (used to be Location), Length of time at that location (shown as read only texts such as 12Y, 3M, 2D, 1H, 6M), Housing Location, Length of time at this housing location
Fourth Line: Booking Date (used to be Current Booking), Length of time they have been booked (years/months/days/hours/minutes - eg: 12Y, 3M, 2D, 1H, 6M), Scheduled Release Date, Length of time until scheduled release (years/months/days/hours/minutes)

New in Flex Jail - Q4 2022

We're excited to review the work that was done this past quarter to improve your Flex Jail experience. For any questions, reach out to Customer Success.

Ability to Override Sex Restricitions for Housing Assingments

Housing within Flex Jail has always limited Sex to Male and Female. Jail now includes an “X” option that allows you to view all housing, rather than only male or female. This feature reduces risk to both the inmate and the jail. This enhancement also includes the ability to override the sex limitation. When a housing limitation is overridden, the user who performed the action is logged. The ability to override the sex limitation in housing is controlled by a new setting.
