At Motorola Solutions, our purpose is safety and security. Our success is measured by the safer outcomes our technologies help make possible: connecting emergency responders in hurricanes, empowering school teachers to call for help, shaving life-saving seconds off 9-1-1 response times and reuniting missing children with their families. 

Our solutions help:

  • Police, fire, EMS and security staff to quickly identify relevant information, providing clarity to help make informed decisions and act confidently. 

  • Securely capture and store objective audio, video and data records of interactions between public safety professionals and the public for greater trust and accountability.

  • Cross-reference multiple sources of incident information — including 9-1-1 call audio, radio traffic, video cameras and more — to flag discrepancies and verify accuracy in police reports and evidentiary records.

  • Provide transparency in how our products do or do not use AI. For instance, AI labels on our products explain the type of AI used, who owns the data processed, human controls and the purpose behind the product’s specific application of AI. Our products like Narrative Assist also keep clear audit logs of AI’s recommendations and suggested changes.

Testing and validation: We prioritize product testing and validation as an integral part of our technology development lifecycle. Our products and analytics are tested prior to release and on an ongoing basis thereafter, with particular consideration given to the accuracy, reliability and trustworthiness of our AI models. 

Stakeholder engagement: We actively engage with a broad range of stakeholders to gather feedback to help understand the societal impact of our technologies. We recognize that a complete view of this impact requires many perspectives, including our customers and users, our technology and sales partners, as well as the communities our customers and products serve. 

Governance and compliance: We align our Responsible AI & Technology Stewardship governance program with leading industry frameworks for privacy, cybersecurity and AI governance and compliance, including those established by NIST, FedRAMP and ISO. User education: We support our customers with the information they need to operate our solutions safely and responsibly, including information about how our products work, available features, default settings, customization options and how and why the product uses AI.
