VB COMPANION PRIVACY POLICY

About This Policy

We at Motorola Solutions, Inc. (‘MSI’, “we”, “us” or “our”) have developed this Privacy Policy because we care about how the information you provide to us is used and shared. This Privacy Policy describes the privacy practices for VB Companion Mobile Application provided by Motorola Solutions, Inc. This Privacy Policy relates to the information collection and use practices of VB Companion. By using this Application, you are agreeing to the terms of this Privacy Policy and the accompanying Terms of Use. This Privacy Policy is a supplement to the Motorola Solutions Privacy Statement which covers additional privacy practices.  In the event of a conflict between this Privacy Policy, the Motorola Solutions Privacy Statement, and the applicable contract entered into by your organization for the provision of VB Companion(the “Contract”), the conflicting terms shall be resolved by giving precedence in the following order:  a) the Contract; b) this Privacy Policy; and c) the Motorola Solutions Privacy Statement. Any questions regarding the Contract should be directed to your organization.

Information We Collect

By using VB Companion, you accept that Motorola Solutions will access certain information, including your location, and will share it with our management software, VideoManager, when location sharing is enabled. You must opt-in to share your location, and you can opt-out at any time while you are signed in.

VB Companion will retain various user preferences across sessions based on a unique user id for a specific device.

How We Collect Information

We collect information directly from your mobile device. We collect information from your mobile device based on your opt-in choices in your App Settings (e.g. location services). This information is passed through to VideoManager.

Your location will be regularly relayed to VideoManager and the VB400 camera following your confirmation, at which point we will only use your last recorded location. When the location service is active, your smartphone indicates that the data is being processed via a compass icon in the upper bar.

When available, your location information will be stored as video metadata in the VB400 camera and available to view on a map in VideoManager.

How We Use/Store Information

VB Companion does not retain any data transmission locally on your device. This information is only temporarily displayed in the application’s user interface during your active session. None of this information persists across an intentional sign out/sign in.

Your Choices/Opt-out

VB Companion is designed to access your location and will share it with our management software, VideoManager, but you must opt-in to share your location. You can also opt-out at any time while you are signed in through your App Settings.

Changes to Privacy Policy

We may add to or upgrade VB Companion to provide you with new or enhanced features. We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect any changes in our collection or use practices. Therefore, please refer back to this Privacy Policy on a regular basis. Please be aware that, to the extent permitted by applicable law, our use of the Information is governed by the Privacy Policy in effect at the time we collect the Information.
