The challenge
Cybersecurity attacks on public safety agencies are becoming more frequent and complex, and have the potential to cause millions of dollars in damage. YRP recognized that a successful attack on their mission-critical network could disrupt officer communications, impact 9-1-1 response and impede evidence gathering. Furthermore, an attack which compromised data and sensitive information would damage the trust YRP has built with its community. Yet, finding the resources to continuously monitor YRP’s network for threats was a challenge in itself.
The Solution
We began by establishing a true understanding of YRP’s risk profile based on industry-specific threats. This enabled YRP to address gaps and findings that could impact their networks.
With a “security first” mindset and culture in place, our Cybersecurity Advisory Services team supported YRP in building a robust cybersecurity governance framework and implementing mitigation and remediation strategies. We performed a series of services, including:
ActiveEye Managed Detection and Response (MDR) for Enterprise, encompassing log analytics, network detection and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR)
NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) Assessment, encompassing internal vulnerability scanning, firewall review and external and physical penetration testing
Our Security Operations Centre delivered 24/7 monitoring services, empowering YRP to proactively safeguard its network, identifying potentially malicious activity and responding to threats quickly.
24/7 protection from cyber threats
Partnering with Motorola Solutions has given YRP an enhanced ability to defend against cyber attacks, ensuring the ongoing availability, safety and reliability of its operations. By investing in robust cybersecurity measures, the agency can focus on their primary mission to better serve and protect the community.
Paulo DaSilva, Deputy Chief of Police
“It is extremely vital from a leadership perspective to have a very significant role when it comes to the cybersecurity protection of your organization and what that means from a policing perspective. Because if you’re not, you’re leaving your service open to vulnerabilities, which ultimately will impact the community that you serve.”
