Capturing better data for the Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service
Leicestershire is a large county in the East Midlands of England, whose population has grown 21% over the past few decades. One of Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service’s priorities is to make the public aware of risks, in order to avoid accidents from happening in the first place. A key component of this is collecting and recording high-quality data from the incidents they attend.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service had been using the Home Office incident recording system for over 8 years, but were struggling with increasingly long periods of downtime - which affected the FRS’s timeliness of data recording and reporting. LFRS wanted a system that they would have complete control over and could customise to their own requirements. They wanted the flexibility to meet their dynamic data and information requirements, in order to improve decision making.
The incident reporting software provided by 3tc (now a Motorola Solutions company) enabled LFRS to own their data, interrogate it and report on it in a manner that suited their organisation.

The system enabled LFRS to complete sections in any order, pre-populate data directly from other systems, configure existing questions, add new ones and report on the data easily. The solution has proved invaluable to the FRS in their efforts to maintain their guiding principle of, “Safer People, Safer Places.”
LFRS will benefit from a collaborative partnership approach with 3tc (now a Motorola Solutions company) in order to support our strategic objectives for managing the collation and reporting of incident data.
