CarDetector Mobile 6.6.265: Elevating your investigations

On May 21, version 6.6.265 of CarDetector Mobile will be available for download, bringing powerful new features directly to your team.

Key enhancements include:

  • License plate corrections: Keep your investigation data accurate and actionable by instantly correcting or updating the license plate number or state on detections.

  • Multi-vehicle bounding boxes: For detections containing multiple vehicles or plates, a bounding box is now drawn around the captured vehicle in overview images. This update helps you locate and act on critical information faster.

  • Hot plate hit view auditing: To help you maintain a more complete and reliable record of investigations, hot plate hits viewed in CarDetector Mobile will now also have an automatically-generated audit record in the Audits page.

  • CarDetector search auditing: Searches made in CarDetector Mobile now require an authorized reason and purpose, helping to strengthen your data governance and ensure compliance.

  • Other improvements and fixes: See the full release notes for details.

Agency managers looking to deploy this upgrade can either do so manually or contact our support team for assistance.

CarDetector Fixed 6.3

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

To comply with CJIS standards, new requirements for logging on to CDF 6.3 and CDM 6.6 have been implemented for VehicleManager users. VehicleManager Enterprise and ClientPortal users are not affected by the new login requirements. CDF and CDM now use the VehicleManager login page with MFA support. When logging on with a Standard User account, the full MFA login process must be completed every 12 hours. Proxy User accounts are not automatically logged out. Stored scans and hits will continue to upload after the system is logged back on.

Device Authentication

To comply with CJIS standards, all CDF 6.3 and CDM 6.6 systems must now be authenticated through VehicleManager to log on, upload detections and download hot lists. VehicleManager Enterprise and ClientPortal users are not affected by device authentication requirements. Agency Managers must review and authenticate CDF systems that have received the version 6.3 update, and CDM systems that have received the version 6.6 update. A grace period of 90 days will be applied to existing systems so that they can continue to operate uninterrupted, without authentication. To authenticate CDF or CDM systems in VehicleManager, log on as an Agency Manager and go to: Device Authentication → More → Authenticate Device.

See the VehicleManager Passkey QuickStart Guide for more information on authenticating Windows computers used to access VehicleManager.
