Honoring Telecommunicators – #NPSTW

Why do telecommunicators take the call – specifically, an emergency call for service that is coming from a person who may be having the worst day of their life?

It takes a special person with a deep commitment to helping people to be a telecommunicator. Not everyone can do this job and you all do it so well, no matter what is happening to the adult or child on the other end of the call. You are the calm voice that saves lives, the lives of the caller and the first responders to the scene.

April 9-15 is NPSTW (National Public Safety Telecommunicator Week), when we recognize the incredible work telecommunicators do to keep us safe. Over the years it has been our honor to hear your stories, share your videos and better understand how you protect first responders  – all as a shout out to the world about the amazing work you do. We honor your passion, purpose and determination.

This year is no different. We honored telecommunicators at the Motorola Solutions annual Summit customer conference – live – in front of over a thousand PSAPs.

At the opening ceremony, we honored Teagan Clayton, Public Safety Communications Operator, Consolidated Dispatch Agency, Tallahassee/Leon County, FL, and Justin Bagby, Communication Specialist II, Louisville KY Metro Emergency Services.

You can also connect with us on TwitterLinkedInFacebook and give a huge shout out to the people who help keep us safe. They deserve a shout out every day!

To telecommunicators everywhere: we know you are always there for each other. Please know we are here for you!
