Beacons of light: Honoring those who take our 9-1-1 calls

NPSTW 2024

A beacon of light

The first point of contact

Helping people on their worst day

We are about saving lives and hope

You never know what to expect

Only as strong as your team

My shift is my second family

Bringing light to their worst day

These are the titles to the eight videos we will share with you during this memorable week when we have the opportunity to honor telecommunicators – the unsung heroes, the first, first responders who courageously take our 9-1-1 calls.

What you will see in the videos, like the titles, showcase who these people are, what they give to 9-1-1 callers and their families and how they depend on each other for solace and comfort. Natalie Pescitelli, from Winnipeg Police Service, says it best – “Not everyone can do this job.” Indeed, it takes a special kind of person, a special calling, to bring light to people on their worst day.

Motorola Solutions is honored to recognize these individuals who represent all telecommunicators everywhere. We’ll be adding new videos each day during NPSTW. When you hear their stories, we know you will agree – they are amazing and deserve our thanks every day.

Thank you 9-1-1 telecommunicators and supervisors. We are so grateful for all you do to keep us safe.
