The challenge
Before the pandemic, MRT had already started implementing technology systems to enhance safety standards and aid in the development of its significant civil construction rail projects. With the onset of COVID-19, MRT also had the crucial task of curbing the virus's spread and upholding social distancing measures to safeguard both passengers and staff. This required advanced and integrated safety technology.
The solution
By leveraging a wide range of integrated solutions, including digital radios and body cameras, MRT created a safer station environment, while helping to limit the spread of viruses.
MRT has integrated several technologies to enhance its safety and efficiency, including fixed video cameras on every train and station. Digital radios keep staff connected to instant team-based communication and data, providing fast access to incident details whenever needed. MRT also has a modern command-and-control platform that improves its capabilities for incident handling and evidence gathering, facilitating successful case investigations and resolutions.
