Public Safety Agencies Enhance Operations with Motorola Solutions Command Center Software

Motorola Solutions will showcase software solutions designed for the needs of 911 agencies at NENA 2018

CHICAGO – June 14, 2018 – Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI) continues to pave the way for public safety communications with groundbreaking command center software for emergency call handling, command and control, and management of records and evidence.

“Public safety agencies require advanced technologies that address their unique needs when every second counts,” said Andrew Sinclair, general manager and corporate vice president, Software Enterprise, Motorola Solutions. “Our end-to-end suite of software solutions work together seamlessly to improve command center operations from the time a 911 call is placed to after an incident is resolved.”

At the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) 2018 Conference, June 16-21 in Nashville, Tenn., Motorola Solutions will demonstrate software for call takers, dispatchers and intelligence analysts, including solutions that intelligently guide 911 agencies down the path to Next Generation 911 (NG911).

Lubbock Emergency Communication District in Texas is one of several agencies working with Motorola Solutions to advance its operations to NG911 by replacing analog equipment with new IP infrastructure. The agency will be implementing Motorola Solutions’ VESTA® NEXT call-routing service that will, in the future, enable the geospatial routing of 911 calls from Lubbock District’s 350,000 residents and visitors along with the future ability to send data and images as part of their 911 calls.

“VESTA’s agnostic platform and the a la carte service offerings were a major selling point for us,” said Michael Grossie, executive director of the Lubbock Emergency Communication District. “VESTA is a proven leader in the 911 industry, so it made sense to integrate their solutions into our network.”

VESTA NEXT delivers the critical elements agencies need for NG911 including call routing, emergency service IP networks (ESInet), GIS services, cybersecurity and network monitoring dedicated to public safety.
