Motorola Solutions Announces New Mission-Critical Devices and Software for First Responders

New ASTRO® software and APX™ 8000 hazloc radio enable seamless communications for any rescue operation

LAS VEGAS – Aug. 6, 2018 – Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI) continues to develop advanced communication technologies built for the needs of public safety. The company’s first responder devices and its end-to-end suite of software solutions work together to improve command center operations from the time a 9-1-1 call is placed to after an incident is resolved.

“Motorola Solutions is paving the way for interoperable mission-critical communications across land-mobile radio (LMR) and broadband networks,” said Bruce Brda, Motorola Solutions executive vice president of Products & Solutions. “Our Command Center software suite provides a unified experience across emergency call handling, command and control, and management of records and evidence. Information is shared seamlessly to help protect those who protect us.”

These technologies will be showcased at the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) 2018 expo, Aug. 6-7 in Las Vegas. Motorola Solutions will be in booth #1015 and their NG9-1-1 solutions will be showcased in booth #1325.

NEW MISSION-CRITICAL DEVICES

APX™ 8000H and APX 8000HXE
When first responders are surrounded by explosive gases and flammable vapors, they need to know that it's safe to communicate. Motorola Solutions is introducing two new hazardous location (hazloc) versions of its popular APX 8000 all-band P25 radio, both certified to the Class 1 Div 1 standard by Underwriters' Laboratory (UL). The APX 8000H is built for law enforcement, military and federal agencies. The APX 8000HXE is designed for firefighters and disaster management teams.

LEX L11 – AT&T Certified and FirstNet Ready
The LEX L11 public safety LTE device is AT&T certified and designed for the U.S. broadband First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) or similar global public safety networks. Motorola Solutions is working with AT&T to provide first responders with the next generation of software capabilities, including voice, data and message sharing across a secure network to enable them to quickly access and coordinate action based on vital information.

NEW SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS

Critical Connect
When a large-scale emergency strikes, fast inter-agency collaboration is key to a coordinated response. Critical Connect is a cloud-based solution that enables any agency connected to this service to communicate between Motorola Solutions’ LMR systems and mission-critical applications. System interoperability and data sharing is fast and secure. Agencies can communicate via voice or Motorola Solutions push-to-talk services while sharing broadband data information such as pictures, videos, location and other intelligence information.

ASTRO® 25 Location on Receive
It is critical for command center dispatchers to know the location of first responders – especially when call traffic is high. The new ASTRO 25 Location on Receive feature enables APX radios to automatically report their coordinates to a mapping application, even while receiving voice calls. It provides dispatchers with enhanced situational awareness to help them respond to calls more effectively and keep personnel safer.
