Police Officer Children’s Educational Dreams Come True with Motorola Scholarships

Bermuda – May, 2013 – The Motorola Solutions Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Motorola Solutions, today announced US $30,000 donation to the Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police (ACCP) to support the ACCP/Motorola Scholarship Fund. This program will assist in the education of the children of police officers and police support staff throughout the Caribbean.

The ACCP/Motorola Solutions Foundation Scholarship Program is focused on providing the sons and daughters of police officers and police support staff with resources to continue their college or university studies. By promoting this program, it is expected that students who do not have the resources required to continue their education will now have the opportunity to do so.

Children of current police officers and police support staffs who lack the resources necessary to fund their children’s academic pursuits or other hardships will be able to use this money to continue their education in Engineering, Communications and Marketing, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Human Resource Management, Criminology, or Forensic Science. These disciplines are essential for the proper functioning of the day-to-day operations of police organizations and communities in general.

In this sixth year anniversary of the ACCP/Motorola Solutions Foundation Scholarship Fund program, Motorola Solutions Foundation will award 10 new scholarships making a total of thirty-four scholarships granted thus far. This way, Motorola reaffirms its commitment to the Caribbean and to the education of the sons and daughters of police officers and police support staff in the region.
