Experience next generation technologies at Comms Connect, Melbourne

MELBOURNE, Australia – Nov. 27, 2019 – With new and emerging threats to community safety, business continuity and growing pressure on costs and resources, the world has never been more complex for Australian organisations.

To overcome these challenges, Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI) has developed a mission-critical ecosystem of technologies to boost safety and productivity for emergency service and commercial sectors.

At Comms Connect Melbourne this week, (November 28-29, booth 118) Motorola Solutions will demonstrate how its integrated voice communication, command centre software and video security solutions increase collaboration, identify risks and enable faster incident response for critical industries including law enforcement, mining and transportation.

Featured solutions include WAVE PTXTM Government, a flexible, multi-tenant communications service that extends the reach of mission-critical radio systems while providing interoperable voice and multimedia communication. The service targets Australian government personnel and enables interoperability with mission critical land mobile radio (LMR) systems.

WAVE PTXTM extends workgroup communications for commercial organisations quickly and easily via existing MOTOTRBO networks.

Motorola Solutions will also showcase Smart Connect, its advanced solution to extend the reach of mission-critical communications.

Mission-critical AI to harness the data deluge

Senior Vice President of Technology, Paul Steinberg, will also present Motorola Solutions’ vision for responsible artificial intelligence (AI) in public safety - How Mission-Critical AI can harness the data deluge.

“AI has immense potential to help public safety and commercial organisations gain valuable insights from the masses of data that surround them,” Steinberg said.

“Video analytics powered by AI algorithms can be used to complete essential tasks quickly and efficiently – for example, finding a lost child or senior citizen needing help among a sea of people in a city”.

Managing Director for Motorola Solutions Australia and New Zealand, Con Balaskas, said innovation is essential for Australia’s emergency services to stay ahead of their most complex challenges.

“Public safety and commercial organisations can face significant risks in managing their daily work - from dealing with intense, early season bushfires to keeping transport networks running safely and efficiently,” Balaskas said.

“They need access to the best possible tools and technologies to keep their operations running smoothly while keeping themselves and all community members safe.”

Among Motorola Solutions’ technologies designed to improve workforce collaboration, safety and effectiveness are:

  • Automatic Number Plate VR Experience: A virtual reality headset demonstrating Motorola Solutions’ number plate recognition and in-car video technology. This VR prototype represents the actual solution used by Victoria Police to identify dangerous and unauthorised drivers and detect stolen and unregistered vehicles in real time.
  • Spillman Ally: A web-based, software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform designed to provide security organisations with effective, mobile, easy-to-use security software for incident management and dispatch
  • Edesix: Professional bodyworn video solutions to improve safety, security and produce compelling evidence for a variety of industries including commercial sectors
  • SmartConnect: A secure cloud-based platform that automatically switches mission-critical voice communications to broadband or satellite when needed.
Visit the Motorola Solutions booth at Comms Connect Melbourne at stand 118 on Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th November to experience demonstrations of these technologies and more.

As part of its long-term commitment to advancing capability, skills and technology for mission critical industries, Motorola Solutions continues to sponsor the industry body ARCIA, the association partner for Comms Connect.
