Motorola Solutions Foundation provides scholarships to children of Caribbean police officers
Program will help 10 sons and daughters of police officers and staff realize their dreams
St. Kitts – May 13, 2015 – The Motorola Solutions Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Motorola Solutions, awarded 10 new scholarship recipients from its Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police (ACCP)-Motorola Solutions Scholarship Fund.
The ACCP-Motorola Solutions Foundation Scholarship Program is focused on providing resources for students to continue their college or university studies. The program is making it possible for students who would otherwise not have the necessary resources to pursue an education.
Children of current police officers and police support staff will be able to use scholarship to continue their education in engineering, communications, marketing, finance, industrial engineering, human resource management, criminology or forensic science. These areas of study are essential to the successful day-to-day operations of police organizations and communities in general.
The ACCP and Motorola Solutions Foundation have worked together to promote public safety in the 24 countries in the program, as well as support youth and community development programs.

- The ACCP and the Motorola Solutions Foundation have worked together to assist police departments in each of the 24-member countries to support youth and community development programs.
- The winners will be able to continue their education at certified colleges or universities, either within the Caribbean region or at colleges or universities that are associated with the member countries in the Caribbean such as the United Kingdom, Canada or the United States.
- The program has granted a total of 65 scholarships since its inception eight years ago.
- The staff of the ACCP reviews all applications for scholarships and makes decisions on which students receive support.
