Federal Communications Commission Establishes Rules Implementing the Secure Equipment Act of 2021
For nearly a century, Motorola Solutions has been a trusted provider of safety-based innovations for public safety, military, government and commercial customers. As a company, we are committed to providing innovative, secure, mission-critical communications, video security and access control products, solutions and services that help make communities safer and help businesses stay productive and secure.
Our customers can be confident buying Motorola Solutions’ telecommunications and video products in the U.S.
Our broad line of FCC-certified LMR radios, video cameras and equipment remains available as an alternative choice for public safety, military, government and commercial customers. And our Avigilon, Pelco and Ava Security cameras, and U.S. body-worn and in-car cameras allow our customers to be NDAA Sec. 889 compliant. In particular, our Pelco camera portfolio is an open and flexible line of broadband-capable, VMS-agnostic cameras that offer an immediate replacement option or alternative to the products identified in the FCC’s latest rules.
We continually invest time and resources to advance technologies that are a matter of national security. In 2021, we opened a facility in Richardson, Texas, where we manufacture safety and security video solutions so our customers can be NDAA compliant. This facility is our central hub of production for the company’s portfolio of fixed and mobile video offerings designed to increase visibility, accountability and safety for communities, businesses and first responders.
We support the important objectives of Congress and the FCC to address equipment in the nation’s networks and supply chains that threaten national security. We applaud the Commission’s leadership in prohibiting the sale of telecommunications and video surveillance equipment that poses such a threat for use in the most critical of our nation’s networks.
