Republican National Convention Names Motorola Solutions “Official Mission-Critical Radio Provider”

TAMPA, Fla., Aug. 29, 2012 – Motorola Solutions (NYSE:MSI) has been named the “Official Mission-Critical Radio Provider” for the 2012 Republican National Convention.

Motorola will support the convention with a radio system to serve the Tampa Bay Times Forum, the main venue for the convention, and other event facilities in the surrounding area. The system consists of a digital trunked radio network and nearly 400 portable two-way radios and audio accessories that will help enable convention officials to collaborate and connect with one another instantly.

In addition, Motorola is supplying 200 mission-critical, interoperable APX™ P25 radios to federal, state and local public safety agencies that are providing security operations at the convention.
