Motorola Solutions Wins TETRA Terminals Tender For The Fire Agency in Norway

OSLO, Norway – May 23, 2013 – Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI), a leading provider of mission-critical communications solutions, has been selected as a supplier in one of the latest tender of the Norwegian Directorate for Emergency Communication (DNK) to deliver Terrestrial Trunked Radios (TETRA) digital radio terminals to the Fire Agencies in Norway for the nationwide mission critical network Nødnett for the phases 1 and 2 of the project. The agreement with Motorola includes the delivery of five radio models, in total approx. 2,000 units for the Norwegian Fire Service. The Motorola radio solutions were the first choice for the Fire users because of their superior voice quality and user friendliness.

In August 2012, DNK signed framework agreements with three vendors to be part in the terminal tenders for the public safety services on the nationwide mission critical network, which entitle the vendors to tender in the successive phases during the roll out of the nationwide network. The latest decision follows a tender process where Fire Users have tested the devices of all vendors in real life.

DNK and users have chosen the new MTP3000 series (MTP3200 and MTP3250), MTP850S and MTP850 Ex TETRA handheld digital radios as well as the MTM5400 vehicle mobile radios. With this decision Norway Fire users are joining 2 million users around the world who trust TETRA digital radios from Motorola in mission critical situations.
