Motorola Solutions Reaches New Milestone with 3,000th Trunked DMR Radio System

The 3,000 MOTOTRBO trunked radio systems are in service worldwide, with customers such as Tan Cang - Cai Mep International Seaport Terminal in Vietnam; Yangzhou Taizhou Airport in China; South-Western City School District in Ohio; Nation Pizza and Foods in Illinois; JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort and Spa in Texas and the Plein Disposal in Canada. Businesses such as Fisher Wireless in California are even using MOTOTRBO trunking systems to build digital two-way radio networks for public use.

In 2007, Motorola was the first to market with digital radio products based on the European Telecommunication Standards Institute (ETSI) DMR standard, and in 2010, the first to offer a trunked radio solution based on the DMR standard. By 2011, the company had announced the shipment of the first million DMR radios.

MOTOTRBO DMR-BASED TRUNKING SOLUTIONS:

  • Our top-tier MOTOTRBO trunking solution, Connect Plus, has a dedicated control channel, and multi-site capacity with thousands of subscriber radios per site. It was launched in 2010 and has expanded its capacity by more than 700 percent from the initial release.
  • Always innovating, Motorola used the transition to digital two-way radio as an opportunity to rethink traditional trunking – resulting in the development of Capacity Plus. Launched in 2011, using innovative “distributed trunking” architecture, the system allows the co-location of multiple repeaters on one site.
  • Widening the benefits of Capacity Plus, Linked Capacity Plus provides distributed trunking on multiple repeaters at many sites. Capacity Plus and Linked Capacity Plus also allow customers to implement “data revert” channels, so that voice and data can be managed using separate resources.
  • All three trunking solutions offer full data capability, with advanced features and functionality. They are compatible with the extensive portfolio of voice and data applications available from the Motorola PartnerEmpower™ program, which enable customers to build a tailored solution to meet their business needs.
