Motorola Solutions Launches Innovation Center in Israel

The company appointed Hemi Pecker, previously head of Cyber administration in the Israel Prime Minister’s office, to head the labs and is now hiring researchers

Tel Aviv, Israel – December 1, 2016 - Motorola solutions, a leading provider of innovative communication solutions and advanced mission-critical technologies, today launched its new Innovation Center in Israel. The Center is expected to produce innovative solutions for new challenges governments and public safety agencies are facing around the world. In this framework, the Innovation Center researchers will work to enhance collaborations with local industries and academia.

The company has also announced the appointment of Hemi Pecker, previously the head of Cyber administration in the Israel Prime Minister’s office, to head the innovation center. In addition, Motorola Solutions is now hiring dozens of experts and top researches to develop technologies for areas of public safety, intelligence, government, smart cities and critical infrastructure.

Hemi Pecker brings rich experience in public safety technologies and cyber security for different sectors. In his previous role he managed the cyber development programs for Lockheed Martin in Israel, and prior to that he headed Cyber administration in the Israel Prime Minister’s office and the technology division of the National Security Council (NSC).

During the launch event, the engineers of Motorola Solutions Israel R&D center showcased future concepts of technologies for smarter public safety. Among the showcased demos: A new communication concept via a vibrating vest for police officers and firefighters; a smart context awareness tool for police officers that enables automatic actions like switching on a body cam when the gun is un-holstered; smart object tagging sent from the field to the command center for continued surveillance; a virtual reality command center, as well as other innovative technologies will assist public safety agencies on their job.
