Motorola Solutions Foundation supports technological innovation program in Indonesia

BANDUNG, Indonesia – Apr. 15, 2014 – Motorola Solutions Inc. (NYSE: MSI), through the charitable arm of the company, Motorola Solutions Foundation, announced that it is contributing to the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Institute (Lembaga Pengembangan Inovasi dan Kewirausahaan) of the Bandung Institute of Technology (Institut Teknologi Bandung), Indonesia, in support of the institution’s efforts to inspire technological innovation among students.

The foundation’s contribution of approximately Rp 360 million (US$31,500) will be used by the institute to fund a video technology development initiative that seeks to build a platform capable of reconciling images received from surveillance cameras and video recorders to perform video analytics. The analytics gathered can then be used to provide critical real-time information on behaviors of people, moving vehicles or objects and assist public safety as well as law enforcement agencies to monitor, identify and respond to a situation effectively.

Additionally, the program also aims to encourage technological innovation among students and researchers.
