Motorola Solutions Ensures UNEP Global Efficient Lighting Forum’s Success

Dec. 10 2014, Beijing – Motorola Solutions (NYSC: MSI) today announced that its Mag One A10D commercial portable two-way digital radios and their accessories played an important role in ensuring the success of the first Global Efficient Lighting Forum of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). This is the second time Motorola Solutions has collaborated with UNEP following 2013’s UNEP Finance Initiative Global Roundtable, during which Motorola Solutions products also provided support. In addition to assuring safe, efficient and reliable communications support during the conference, the cost-effective, practical and innovative Motorola Solutions products were also highly praised by UNEP and its Global Efficient Lighting Centre (GELC).

The Global Efficient Lighting Forum was held in Beijing during November 10th-11th, 2014. It is the first global and high-level lighting forum sponsored by UNEP, bringing together more than 200 delegates from China and abroad, including UN and government officials from various countries, international organizations and lighting company representatives. This put a very high requirement for on-site radio communications, command and dispatch. Given the importance of this forum, Motorola Solutions provided the latest Mag One A10D commercial portable two-way digital radios as well as the earphones and other accessories used in conference management, coordination, VIP reception and other key activities, so as to ensure the success of the conference.

Laura Fuller, Communications Officer, UNEP en.lighten initiative, said: "The Global Efficient Lighting Forum brought together major global and national stakeholders committed to bringing about a global transition to energy efficient lighting. We sincerely thank Motorola Solutions for providing logistical support to us. Its easy-to-use and reliable radios ensured timely and efficient communications for us during the conference and played a major role in making this event a success."

Michael Jiang, chairman and president of Motorola Solutions China, said, "It's a great honor for us to collaborate with UNEP again, to provide high-quality two-way radios and accessories that ensure the success of such a high-profile conference. Motorola Solutions is committed to bringing efficient and reliable radio communications solutions to more and more users and helping them be their best in the moments that matter. "
