Motorola Solutions and Verizon Wireless Enter Alliance to Bring LTE Advantages to Public Safety Customers Across the United States
BASKING RIDGE, N.J. and SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – Feb. 23, 2011 – Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI) and Verizon Wireless today announced an alliance to bring all the advantages of an advanced wireless communication solution to public safety customers across the U.S. This first-of-its-kind solution combines a private public safety-controlled broadband network tailored for mission critical operations with the benefits of the most extensive and reliable commercial networks in the country.
As a result of this alliance, public safety agencies may benefit from economies of scale and optimized network design that can be customized for their requirements. The alliance allows agencies to supplement their mission critical core platforms with the rich media services, and the increased capacity and coverage of Verizon Wireless’ LTE network.
KEY FACTS
- This solution offers public safety agencies access to real-time management and control, enhanced nationwide roaming, and site sharing of existing mobile broadband sites for rapid deployment and economies of scale.
