Motorola Solutions’ Body Cameras Support Berlin's Commitment to Increased Security

3,000 body cameras will enhance officers safety and transparency during interactions 

BERLIN – March 26, 2026 – Following a European-wide open tender process, Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI) has been awarded a contract to equip Police Berlin and the Berlin Fire Department with 3,000 body cameras. The V500 body cameras have been used by police and fire services in Berlin on a daily basis since the end of 2025. With this first joint procurement by a police and fire department, both public safety organisations join a growing network of emergency services across Europe that rely on Motorola Solutions' body cameras.

Last year, approximately 10,000 police officers, firefighters, and other emergency personnel — including members of Police Berlin and Berlin Fire Department — fell victim to violent offenses while on duty in the federal capital. The introduction of body cameras underscores the goal of Berlin's public safety organisations to increase frontline safety, transparency of interactions, as well as capturing evidence.

The Motorola Solutions V500 body cameras are provided alongside the highly configurable VideoManager evidence management software. This software is integrated directly into the forces' internal IT infrastructure, allowing officers to quickly upload, securely store and efficiently manage video footage as part of their existing daily workflows.
