Motorola Solutions offers an easy product and battery recycling service at no cost to our customers. Electronic equipment and batteries have a negative impact on the environment if disposed of incorrectly. We run take-back initiatives around the world to ensure that our products are disposed of correctly and to work with our customers to meet our environmental goals.
Our batteries & products are recycled separately using two different programs. This ensures that we are following the various recycling requirements globally for each type of waste. We partner with Call2Recycle for battery recycling in the US & Canada & SIMS for product recycling globally (excluding the Asia Pacific region). For recycling not covered in those programs please contact us directly.
We accept all Motorola Solutions branded equipment & accessories for recycling. To recycle our products at no cost, register with SIMS. For recycling in APAC, contact us directly.
We recycle portable and mobile radios and accessories; infrastructure equipment; scanners; computers; laptops; monitors; video cameras and system components, such as displays.
Once you have registered with SIMS, you will be able to submit a shipment request through the SIMS portal. Please outline how much product is needed to be recycled. Depending on the size of the shipment, either a shipping label will be provided or a truck will be scheduled to pick up the equipment.
In the EU, batteries fall under the Regulation on Batteries and Waste Batteries. We feature a crossed out wheelie bin symbol on our products, batteries & documentation to inform how our products are disposed of in accordance with the EU WEEE Directive, EU Battery Regulation & applicable local laws.

Specialty companies process the equipment received through our take-back programs for reuse, recycling of parts and materials and, as a last resort, disposal in a safe and responsible manner. We ensure that our recycling suppliers comply with all regulatory requirements for disposal of electronic equipment and follow Motorola Solutions and industry standards. Like all suppliers, recyclers must abide by our Supplier Code of Conduct.
