      WORK ANYWHERE

THE MTP8000EX SERIES - YOU CAN TAKE IT ANYWHERE AND EVERYWHERE

Workers need to be able to take their ATEX radio anywhere and everywhere. This means far more than just making sure the radio meets the latest ATEX and IECEx standards so that can be used in hazardous environments. It needs to be rugged enough to withstand the roughest use in the toughest environments but also needs to be easy-to-use even with heavy gloves. Workers need to be confident that their ATEX radio will reach from one side of the site to the other as well as work in buildings. They need to hear and be heard against the loudest background noise, from inside pump rooms to right beside the largest industrial machinery.

      RUGGED DESIGN
The MTP8000Ex Series radios are built to the latest ATEX and IECEx safety standards for safe use in hazardous environments. They are also IP65, IP66 and IP67 rated so they can withstand being sprayed by water jets or dropped in dirty water. The radios have been through Accelerated Life Tests to make sure they will survive these conditions for many years.

      ADVANCED ERGONOMICS
We have also made the radios easier to use than ever before for workers wearing protective clothing and heavy gloves so they can go anywhere while easily using their radio. The MTP8000Ex has a T- Bar grip making it harder to drop and easier to hold in heavy gloves. The textured PTT button, tactile keypad and exaggerated control button to select volume and talkgroup were all designed to be easy to use whilst wearing protective clothing. The radio also has larger emergency button at the base of the antenna making it easy to find without looking – even with thick gloves. The top display on the radio also makes it easy to see emergency notifications, battery level, volume level and talkgroup when the radio is worn on the belt or in a chest pocket.

      ENHANCED COVERAGE
Workers in hazardous environments need to be able to go deep inside buildings and to the furthest parts of a site safe in the knowledge that should something happen they will still be in communication with the rest of their team and with control. For this reason we gave the MTP8000Ex Series radio higher receiver sensitivity and higher transmission power than any previous ATEX radio. It means urgent messages will be heard by workers in locations where other ATEX radios would be out of coverage.

      COVERAGE INDICATOR
But it wasn’t enough to just give the radio the best coverage out there – we needed to make sure they know exactly when they were safely in coverage or out of communication with their team. To solve this problem we gave the MTP8000Ex radios an LED Coverage Indicator at the base of the antenna which clearly shows the worker if coverage becomes poor or non-existent.

      LOUD AND CLEAR AUDIO
Workers in hazardous environments also need to hear and be heard wherever they are on a site, even against loud background noises such as pump room or heavy machinery. We made sure the MTP8000Ex Series has loud and clear audio by giving the radios Automatic Gain Control which eliminates loud background noise or interference.

      EXTENDED BATTERY LIFE
Sometimes it’s not just where hazardous workers need to take their radios - it’s when. If an emergency incident or unplanned event occurs on their watch they may well need to work long beyond their standard shift. This is why the MTP8000Ex Series has an extended battery life in excess of 16 hours. So workers can be confident that their radios will work where and when it really matters.

      BLUETOOTH WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY
With one eye on the future, the MTP8000Ex Series radios have integrated Bluetooth wireless technology so they can be paired in the future with devices such as, heart rate monitors or body-worn gas sensors. These devices monitor the worker’s wellbeing and the safety of their working environment. If any dangerous issues are detected, such as a high heart rate or dangerous gas levels in the air, an automatic alert can be sent to control and their teammates over the radio via the Bluetooth connection. This means that in the future workers will be able to go anywhere safe in the knowledge that someone is keeping an eye on their safety and well-being.

In short, this means that you can bring the MTP8000Ex to places you can’t bring other radios because it was designed to be extremely easy-to-use and reliable, even in the toughest environments. Check out this video to see the MTP8000Ex in action.
