KVL 4000 Key Variable Loader

The DIMETRATM KVL 4000 encryption Key Variable Loader for secure enabled Motorola Solutions' products is equipped with the Motorola Solutions' MC55E0 PDA. This PDA style key loader is outfitted with features and a user interface for increased efficiency and programming flexibility. A large LCD color display paired with an easy to use alphanumeric keypad enables simple viewing and data entry. Built with legendary Motorola Solutions' quality and security, the KVL 4000 is built to withstand everyday use in Federal/National security and public safety environments.

    ENCRYPTION KEY MANAGEMENT

    • Create, store and transfer encryption keys and algorithms to TETRA enabled two-way radios and secure infrastructure components 
    • Supports manual entry of E2EE keys 
    • Allows for manual configuration of cryptogroups and associations
    • Supports key sharing among different KVLs and Motorola Solutions' Key Management Facility
    • Maintains a record of the most recent 250 key load operations 

    ENHANCED SECURITY  

    • FIPS 140-2 Level 3 Hardware-compliant Security Module (HSM) provides tamper-evident and tamper-response protection of encryption keys ensuring the highest level of security for your voice and data communications
    • User timeout automatically logs out the user after a specified period of inactivity
    • Administrator-level  authentication allows administrators to perform and restrict firmware upgrades, changes, and key management.
    • Optional Enhanced Security – adds password protection of the operating system and prevents use of unsigned applications and limits wireless communication

     

    DEAD BATTERY OPERATION

    • Ability to operate the KVL including key management and key downloading while the device is charging

     

    KEY MANAGEMENT FACILITY (KMF) SUPPORT

    • With store and forward capability the encryption keys are downloaded from the KMF, stored in the KVL and are physically delivered to the end units
