Biography
Karen Carlson has a successful track record of improving law enforcement and first responder technical operations in the greater Green Bay, Fox River Valley, Wisconsin area. After getting her degree in Business Administration at University of Wisconsin, she started at Motorola Solutions as an Account Manager. In 2003 she joined FoxComm as the Management Information Coordinator, where she consolidated operations, technical resources and personnel for three individual PSAPs and implemented Wireless 9-1-1 throughout four counties. She deployed new technology in the four counties under her jurisdiction including Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), MDC, Logging and Telephony. Carlson has been awarded several million dollars in grants for technology including Wireless 9-1-1, IJIS, and BTOP. She achieved common standard operating protocols for Police, Fire and EMS for CAD/MDC and Voice Communications usage. While at FoxComm she also hosted the Public Safety Communications Consortium for over 140 Law, Fire, EMS and 9-1-1 agencies. Services included CAD, Mobile Computing, and Voice and Data Radio Communications. She has immense experience with major incident response including two airplane crashes, 9/11 lockdowns, multiple line of duty deaths, and 12 Packers games and event staffing annually.
Carlson has a strong focus and passion for process efficiency, customer relations, product alignment with customer business processes and creative problem solving. She utilizes analytical processes to work with people and challenging situations to manage projects and deliverables.
