Having spent his career as both a Police Officer and a Public Safety Commercial Partner, Jason balances his knowledge of today’s advanced technologies with practical user experience to provide departments the tools to help keep both their citizens and first responders safe.

Jason began his Law Enforcement career off on a high note by obtaining the KCC Police Academy’s highest award as Criminal Justice Student of the Year in 2001. Months later he found himself in his first week of in-house orientation at the Grand Rapids Police Department when the instructors stopped training to turn on the television coverage of the 9-11 attacks on the World Trade Center. With the new found pride in our country and a growing concern for whatever attacks may follow that were felt nationwide, Jason worked to make his small part of Grand Rapids as safe as possible.

He spent just under eight years on night shift patrol in Grand Rapids’ poorest and most crime-ridden area. There he responded to homicides, accidental deaths, gang activities, drug crimes, alcohol related offenses, domestic violence, and thousands of civil and traffic offenses. He was awarded two medals and over 20 Letters of Commendation during his time as an officer.

In 2009 Jason started a new chapter in his public safety career by joining a CAD/RMS company out of Ohio. He quickly gained a reputation in the industry for have a straightforward and honest approach in dealing with departments in need of new software. In 2014 Emergency Callworks gave Jason the opportunity to expand his knowledge to Next Generation 9-1-1 Phone systems. Today he uses his past experience as an end-user as well as that honest approach to help dispatch centers and their communities upgrade their phone systems to a true Next-Gen text ready solution. Jason is active in both NENA and APCO being a member of both Michigan Chapters and serving as the Michigan APCO Commercial Committee Chairperson.
