Updates to Spillman Flex Touch
Capture Photos (Android): Already released for Touch on iOS at the end of 2020, Android Touch users can now capture photos on their device for incident documentation. Captured photos can be affiliated with a Name, Vehicle, Property, or Incident. Available settings include Image aspect ratio, up to 5X zoom, and flash on/off/auto.
Text Scaling: Enhanced Touch readability for officers with text scaling to three different font sizes. Within the Settings menu, users can select between small, medium, and large for their preferred font sizes. A comparison (small, medium, and large from left to right) is shown below:
Night Mode Contrast: Night mode text colors in Touch have been updated for consistent contrast and readability.
Password Expiration Notifications: Touch users will now be notified by the application when:
Their Flex Touch passwords are nearing expiration (“You have (n) days before your password expires.”) (See example screenshot)
Their Flex Touch password has expired. (“Your password has expired, please contact your administrator.”)
Their Flex Touch account is locked. (“Your account is locked, please contact your administrator to regain access.")
App and Server Version: The Settings menu in the Flex Touch application now shows the application and server versions for easier troubleshooting. This will help Support personnel resolve issues more quickly by knowing immediately what versions of the software are involved.
Coming In Version 1.5.0 (available in late July)
Notification of CAD Incident Updates: Officers are now alerted - within the Flex Touch application or when the app is running in the background - to changes in their assignment status, or updates to an assigned call’s information.
Users will receive a notification within the app when they have been assigned to an incident (below left); unassigned from an incident (below center); or when the details of an assigned call have been updated (below right).
If the app is running in the background, users will receive a push notification of the same three states - assigned to an incident, unassigned from an incident, or updates to an assigned incident.
Both within the app or via the push notification, the user can click the alert to access the appropriate incident, with any new information highlighted.
