NEW IN COMMANDCENTRAL JAIL - Q3 2021

We're excited to review the work that was done this past quarter to improve your CommandCentral Jail experience. For any questions, reach out to customer success.

Group Check-In

An efficient booking process can make all the difference, especially when jails have to accommodate temporary inmate release, such as for work release or if an inmate is serving their sentence on the weekends. If multiple inmates return to the jail from a temporary leave at the same time, this can cause a bottleneck and slow down the check-in process. CommandCentral Jail now allows you to save time by checking in multiple inmates at once as a group.

Once you have enabled Group Intake in settings, you will see a new column in the Intake window. To check in multiple inmates as a group, select the inmates that are present to check in and then process the group of inmates being checked in as a group. You can give the group credit for arrival time if needed and assign a location. See the video for a more in-depth demonstration of how this feature works.

Inmate Movement

The days of manually tracking (or not tracking) inmate movement are over. Easily record inmate movement and keep every corrections officer on the same page using location barcodes.

Using a handheld device, you can scan each inmate’s individual barcode and then scan the barcode at the destination. When the movement is complete, the information is updated in CommandCentral Jail, allowing all users to stay up-to-date on the location of each inmate.

Amended Charge

CommandCentral Jail allows you to keep track of the original charge the inmate was arrested on as well as the charge they plead guilty to in the event that they are different.

The offense record in CommandCentral Jail now has additional fields to allow your agency to record the sentenced charge while leaving the arrested charge in place.

Offense ID Number

Some states require agencies to record a secondary offense ID number. Now, you can easily and accurately track secondary IDs for each offense right in CommandCentral Jail.

The offense record has a new field to allow an additional ID to be captured. The offense IDs are filtered by the selected statute so only the offense IDs that are applicable can be selected.

Cell Check

Cell checks are one of the most routine tasks a correction officer completes. Yet most facilities still require officers to document each inmate’s status and condition on paper, leaving personnel to manually search records when they need previous log information. CommandCentral Jail’s Cell Check is an android application that runs on a purpose-built barcode scanner and allows your personnel to quickly and efficiently complete cell check logs. An officer scans a barcode located outside the cell door and then records what the inmate was doing along with any notes about what the officer observed. Such logs quickly show when an officer last physically checked on an inmate, which is critical information if there’s an incident involving an inmate.

Rounds

Correction officers need to regularly check on the security of each portion of the jail to ensure the safety and security of the facility and the inmates it houses. With CommandCentral Jail’s Cell Check android application, you can quickly and accurately capture when security rounds are completed and how often, increasing confidence for everyone that the facility and inmates are secure. Using the application, an officer scans a barcode at each location they visit during rounds to capture the time the officer checked on that location.

Better Integration Between PremierOne Records and CommandCentral Jail

CommandCentral Jail now receives victim data as part of booking information, supplying personnel with the information they need for victim notification. Additionally, CommandCentral Jail relays mugshot images back to PremierOne Records which officers can then use in a photo lineup or to contact the person at a later date.

The victim information associated with the case report is transferred with the booking information when the information is sent to CommandCentral Jail. Likewise, when a mugshot is captured in CommandCentral Jail during the booking process, the mugshot is sent to PremierOne RMS and updates the master Person record.

Pay or Stay Sentences

Quickly and easily track and manage sentencing information issued by a judge. Ensure the inmate serves the entirety of the sentence as ordered by the judge or pays the fine amount.

When entering a sentence a fine amount and daily rate for fine reduction can be entered for pay or stay sentences. The pay or stay sentence can be set to run consecutively or concurrently with any other sentence. For each day served by the inmate the fine amount is reduced by the daily rate.

Bond Fees

You can now add an additional fee to be collected on top of a bond amount for each charge in order to be compliant with state regulations. Bond payments allow for the bond fee and bond payment to be recorded in a single transaction.

For each bond associated under a charge, a bond fee is automatically associated with the bond record. An agency can set a limit on the number of bond fees that can be applied to bonds for a booking. Bond payments allow for the bond fee and bond payment to be recorded in a single transaction.

Integration with Avigilon Cameras for Capturing Mugshots

CommandCentral Jail now seamlessly integrates with Avigilon cameras for efficient mugshot capturing.

Booking officers continue to use the same process they currently use for capturing mugshots now with Avigilon cameras.

Capture the Immigration Alien Query (IAQ) Number During Booking for State

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has recently updated how state and local law enforcement agencies submit applications for reimbursement under SCAAP. Starting in the FY 2020 application cycle, submitting agencies will be required to certify that they seek reimbursement payments only with respect to those undocumented criminal aliens about whom the agency has provided specific notice to the Department of Homeland Security of the alien’s name, the release date, and his/her home and work addresses.

Submitting agencies will establish the eligibility of inmates for SCAAP reimbursement by sending notification to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Law Enforcement Support Center in the form of an Immigration Alien Query. A new field has been added to the booking record to capture the IAQ number.
