MDC-1200 Emergency button
A long press on the programmable button supports the triggering of the MDC emergency button feature.

Members of your field team need to be connected at all times. And with this exceptional functionality, they will as it allows radios operating on the same frequency to monitor each other’s range, so they are alerted when in or out of communication range occurs. And the EP450s is the only Motorola radio that has this feature.

Radio Lock
This feature provides enhanced security that protects the radio from unauthorized users, and is enabled via the Customer Programming Software (CPS) or through the radio menu. The radio operator is prompted, at power up, to enter the four-digit (no more, no less) password before any radio operations are allowed.

Internal Voice Operated Transmission (VOX)
With the right radio accessory, you can speak and listen without your hands

Tone Tagging
Available in both display and non-display models
Allows the Customer Programming Software (CPS) select a customized tone when receiving a Call Alert or a Selective Call Alert from the current MDC – Call List Member

Selective Radio Inhibit
A security feature that enables the base station to remotely deactivate a radio unit

PTT-ID and Alias (transmit/receive)
Quickly identify a radio user at the start of the transmission

Tx Inhibit Quick Key Override
When checked, it gives radio user the ability to override the selected Busy Channel Lockout rule

Motorola’s Voice Scrambling Optional Board
This is a voice encryption feature via a Motorola Branded Optional Board. This feature is used for Voice Inversion Scrambling in analog mode for enhanced secured communications, with two standard codes 3.39KHz and 3.29KHz
