The Best Defense
When a network breach results in the theft of payment card data, the payment card companies often have to absorb thousands of dollars in unauthorized purchases that get charged to the stolen numbers. To fight this fraud, the Payment Card Industry (PCI) established the PCI Data Security Standards (DSS), a comprehensive list of more than 100 requirements to help ensure the protection of payment card data. These requirements cover all aspects of IP network security including physical security, anti-virus software, patch management, and intrusion protection systems. Any company that processes payment card transactions must conform to these standards with quarterly and annual audits to prove compliance. Failure to do so can result in fines, liability, and loss of service.

PCI Security Assessment
The Motorola PCI Security Assessment helps you prepare for PCI compliance audits by assessing your wireless and wired networks against the PCI DSS requirements. During several days at your site we conduct a thorough review of your security processes and policies, perform automated security assessments, and analyze your network architecture to uncover any gaps that may exist. If gaps are found we provide a full report including specific recommendations and action plans for closing them.

This Motorola service executes the PCI DSS test cases as would be executed by the Quality Security Assessor (QSA) including:

  • Identify the Cardholder Data Environment within your network
  • Execute automated security assessment tolls as needed on in-scope hosts
  • Evaluate technical controls
  • Execute all PCI DSS test cases
  • Review and analyze network architecture
  • Perform WLAN site-survey focusing on rogue AP detection and use of non-compliant WLAN technology
  • Review operation controls and documentation
  • Conduct personnel interviews to understand policy and procedures
  • Map requirements to controls to demonstrate evidence of executing those controls.
  • Identify PCI DSS gaps and provide gap closure recommendations
